Hi, I’m Emily.
And I’m really glad you are here.
If you’re reading this, there is a chance that you may be experiencing some degree of “stuck” in an area of your world. Perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, heavy, confused, angry, frustrated. Perhaps you’re feeling unsure of yourself or unsure of a relationship. Perhaps you’re processing a difficult experience that happened recently or in the past. Or perhaps you have a general feeling or curiosity about therapy and what it might look like for you. Wherever you are, I am truly so glad you are here.
My aim is to create safe spaces for all parts of you to feel seen, heard, and accepted.
Often times, a painful experience or a set of experiences can result in a part of our self feeling a difficult emotion, or feeling invalidated, dismissed, or lost. My passion is to create the safety and connection needed to begin exploring those parts and processing the difficult experiences surrounding them.
I love helping people reconnect and explore all parts of themselves, including their own voice.
My work is deeply rooted in my belief that all humans have an inner wisdom and the ability to be whole and well. I believe that you are the expert of yourself, however it might not always feel that way. We may have not been taught how to listen to our inner wisdom, or we may have lost touch with it along the way. My practice is centered on joining with people wherever they are on their journey to reconnect with parts of themselves that may feel lost or unseen, and ultimately experience wholeness and healing.
A little bit more about me…
I’m a Florida native, but Nashville has been ‘home’ for me for about eight years. I enjoy connecting with the outdoors through hiking, running, and gardening, typically with my husband and our dog. I also enjoy practicing yoga, drinking a hot cup of tea, and reading a good book.
And a little more…
I have a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), License #1619 (TN).
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT and EFIT).
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
