Questions about Therapy:

Is therapy the next right thing for me?

Being curious is such a great place to start. Often times, people have a general feeling that they might want to start therapy but might not be sure why. Part of the therapy process looks like helping you explore the desire to start therapy and determine your goals.

What does therapy look like?

Short answer, therapy looks like having a safe space to explore and vocalize aspects, or parts, of yourself that you feel like you may have difficulty exploring or vocalizing in other spaces in your life. I tailor my approach to each specific client, based upon their needs and desires. Ultimately, my hope is that therapy provides you with a space to feel heard, seen, and known.

Are my issues/questions/problems really requiring therapy?

This is such a common question. Often times, folks may feel like their issues aren’t “bad enough” to pursue therapy. If you have this question, I would love to talk with you about it. Short answer, no one is more or less deserving of therapy. If you’re curious and have any desire to start therapy, then it may very well be the next right step!

Scheduling Questions:

Are you accepting new clients?

I am!

How do I set up an appointment?

It’s easy! Click on the ‘Book A Session’ tab at the top of the screen. From there you will be prompted to fill out a form request for a session. I will respond to you quickly, typically within 24-36 hours.

What is your availability like?

I see clients every week, Tuesday through Friday. I offer morning, afternoon, and early evening appointments. Feel free to contact me with any specific scheduling needs you have.

Questions about sessions:

What should I expect for our first session?

Once you arrive, grab a spot in the waiting area on the 4th floor and I will be out shortly to welcome you! We will start the session by briefly going on the “basics” of counseling, such as confidentiality, and other specifics. We will then spend most of the first session learning about you, your story, your relationships, what brings you in, etc. My goal is always for you to feel safe and comfortable, and so we will go at a pace that feels good to you.

How long does therapy last?

Typically, I see clients once a week and each session lasts 50 minutes. The therapy process is unique for every person, and the overall time frame will vary based upon your specific needs and goals. We will continue to “check in” about how you’re feeling with your progress and goals.
